Congratulations to Our Member of the Month, Kathleen
Mulica

As the primary caregiver for my husband, who lives with
Parkinson’s Disease, I’ve discovered how easy it is to forget to
care for my own needs. I’ve realized how vital it is to nourish
my own well-being alongside his. Joining Alloy Personal Training
has truly been a turning point – thanks to the thoughtful
attention from the trainers and the genuine camaraderie shared
with others in my small group.

I feel seen, supported, and encouraged every step of the way. The
trainers’ enthusiasm and tailored guidance keep me motivated,
while my fellow group members inspire me with their positivity
and commitment. The consistency of my workouts helps me stay
accountable and on a steady schedule.

As a result, I genuinely feel younger, more confident, and
happier in my daily life. Giving myself this care hasn’t just
made me stronger and healthier – it’s made me a better caregiver
and a more balanced, joyful person overall.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month, a great time to highlight
the link between exercise, diet and the disease, including for
people over age 40.

The American Diabetes Association says 30 million Americans
have diabetes, the seventh leading cause of death in the United
States. A person’s weight is a major factor. Exercise and proper
eating are important in preventing and managing diabetes.

The ADA says we can take steps to prevent type 2, the most common
form.

“Stay at a healthy weight, eat well and be active. With these
steps, you can stay healthier longer and lower your risk
of diabetes.”

Among Americans aged 65 and older, 25.2 percent or 12 million
people have diabetes, the ADA says.

If you think you might be at risk, talk to your doctor. If you
have been diagnosed, be sure to know about proper eating and
exercising and take care of yourself every day.

And call us today to set up your free initial Alloy consultation.

Do you start the day with cereal, juice, and toast with jelly –
and then feel your energy plummet right after?

A better breakfast will keep your blood sugar steady and energy
lasting longer. That means more protein, less sugar.

* Start with protein: Eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or a
protein smoothie help you feel full and maintain muscle.
* Complex carbs like oats, whole-grain toast, or berries provide
fiber and slow-burning fuel.
* Nuts, seeds, and avocado give healthy fat and make your meal
more satisfying.

Try oatmeal with berries and a spoonful of Greek yogurt. Your
body will love it.
